Farsiders

The Farsiders are a faction of extremists from the far side of the Milky Way Galaxy, hence their name. Their goal is the destruction of the planet Earth and all of its inhabitants, to punish them for the worst sins of human history.

History[]

The earliest Farsiders were an army of guerillas that revolted against the Earth Union, as they were horrified and disgusted by the various atrocities of human history that led to the Earth Union's existence. It was later joined by other rebels and opponents of the Earth Union, but it was dominated by extremists who wanted total war against Earth and the destruction of the planet.

For the first two centuries of their existence, the Farsiders of the northeastern Galaxy fought against the Third Ghaznavid Empire, whose leaders sought to subjugate the whole Galaxy as their slaves and exterminate all those who refused to convert to the Third Ghaznavids' fascism. Among the rulers of the Third Ghaznavid Empire included warlords from the Marixai and Reichs, who saw the Farsiders as rogue clones that must be subjugated under their steel boot. Both empires tried to exterminate each other, but the Farsiders eventually prevailed using their clone armies and their superweapons to annihilate the Ghaznavid fleets.

However, as the Farsiders became more cruel and destructive, their former Norse allies rejected them, leading to the Farsider authorities denouncing the Norse gods and launching unsuccessful wars and massacres against the Norse states.

After centuries of amassing a fleet and gathering hundreds of armies eager for revenge against the Earth Union, the Farsiders swept southwards towards the Sol System. They blasted through the Unionite fleets and surrounded the Earth, before they bombarded it as they tried to break into the Great Shields. When they had finished reducing the Earth Union's capital to rubble, their armies descended upon Earth's surface and slaughtered anyone they had seen, but as they were besieging the Great Shields at Yemen and Kamchatka, they were wiped out by the Preservers, ending their attempted genocide.

Angered by the defeat of the Farsider fleets, many planets across the Milky Way declared themselves Farsiders. After several attacks and wars against the Preservers and various planets that sent their peoples to rebuild Earth, they isolated themselves into blocs that assaulted any traveller suspected of being an Earthling.

Military[]

The Farsiders possessed one of the strongest military forces of the Galaxy during their time. Their standard unit is the NyBerskor, elite units armed with laser rifles and axes. NyBerskar were stimulated with drugs that made them more bloodthirsty in the heat of battle.

One kind of mutant clone used by the Farsiders was the Ueheishi (Japanese: 飢え兵士, "hungry soldiers"). Ueheishi are different from humans in that they walk and run on all fours, they have longer fangs and claws, and they are more aggressive and inclined to kill and eat people. Their eyes are their weakest spots: the destruction of their eyes can also severely damage their fragile brains. Originally designed to attack Japan and nearby countries, the Ueheishi were used to slaughter survivors of bombings and purges, or to execute criminals. The Farsiders put on various costumes for the Ueheishi to represent the worst examples of their targets' history. For example, Ueheishi in Japan represented the brutal soldiers and officers of the Pacific campaign; and Ueheishi in America and Bigton (a descendant of America) resembled militants, right-wing terrorists, riot police, and troops during the War on Terror.

Aside from the usual recruits and auxiliary clones, the Farsiders have also created the "ghost legions", supersoldiers representing the victims of Earth's many historical mass deaths. Regardless of their ancestors' backgrounds, these clones were trained and radicalised to hate Earth and its people, to destroy them to punish the enemies of their ancestors.

Society[]

The "Farsiders" were more or less like an unstable coalition. Initially, they developed into an alliance, with some of its members acting as federations. Many of this coalition's members were divided in their plans after the defeat of the Earth Union by conquering its homeworld:

  • Reorganisation: the liberated peoples of Earth, along with the Shielded Nations, may divide the Earth between themselves or create transcontinental leagues without the Earth Union's policies;
    • Some Farsiders instead interpreted this goal as creating a savage, Darwinist society where the strong hunt the weak like animals, populated entirely by male warriors that reproduce by splitting.
  • Restoration/Reconsecration: the Earth's peoples will be reorganised to favour and (re)establish pagan religions throughout the world. New governments will be set up to convert the Earthlings and encourage them to worship the gods of their peoples' ancestors, based on their historical cultures before AD 200.
    • Due to their ancient history and syncretism with local cultures, Hinduism, Buddhism, other Asian religions, Zoroastrianism, and Gnosticism are also included among the "pagan" religions. Some Farsiders proposed that people who refused to convert to state-mandatory paganism should be executed, just as their ancestors killed people for refusing to convert to their religions.
    • For countries founded by Europeans such as America, Canada, Australia, and South Africa; the Europeans may practice the religions of their ancestors, while the locals use their native religions.
    • Others suggested that the Muslims on Earth should be left alone to practice their beliefs. Because they consist of a sizeable portion of Earth's population, attempting to forcibly convert them will trigger a fourth world war.
    • Still others also had similar proposals for Christians and atheists, who also represent some prominent members of the Farsiders.
    • Similar plans were also held for some supporters of historical countries and irredentists, from the Byzantine Empire to the United States and the Mauryan Dynasty. Many of these proposals were rejected in favour of letting the Shielded Nations and other Earthlings decide for themselves, but this did not stop some Farsiders from attacking Shielded countries to realise their planned empires.
  • Retribution: the history of the Earth and the infamy of the Earth Union's deeds were so repulsive to Galactic society, that the planet and all of its inhabitants (including their fellow heathens) deserved nothing but total annihilation. As the Farsiders associated any form of dissent with the Earth Union and its predecessors, this faction became the dominant faction.
    • This was a compromise between hundreds of genocides and ethnic cleansings that were proposed to impose the Farsiders' utopia.
  • Annihilation: if there are no gods, there is only the universe; and for making humanity suffer, the universe and life are his enemy. Their goal was to "punish" the universe for hurting humanity by destroying it, so that all suffering will end in the peace of nothingness. In spite of their noise, their goal of exterminating all of humanity (including Farsiders too) made them unpopular.

Any form of dissent or activism was considered unacceptable, as Farsider doctrine taught that the existence of dissent itself led to things such as the Soviet Union and its supporters; America, its imperialism, its various activist movements and its "schizophrenic" society that led to its division; and the Earth Union. Their hatred of dissent and their fear of it resulting in communism led the Farsiders to become more authoritarian and fanatical in their hatred of Earth, and turned a portion of their supporters away from their rule.

Accountability, forgiveness, shame, mercy, the belief in consequences (unless they are doing the consequences), reparations, and apologies are considered sins in Farsider culture, as they represent weakness, submission, and change to suit their opponents. Such opponents and "traitors" who practiced such acts, according to Farsider belief, must be utterly destroyed to eliminate their threat to the Farsiders' plans.

They eventually sought a society bent only on retribution, revenge, and war: they believed that just as various peoples all over history committed genocides to achieve revenge or to put down their threats, so should the Farsiders to all forms of opposition throughout the Galaxy, until only they themselves remain in a Galaxy littered with ruins and death. Even then, the remaining Farsiders would kill each other, until a dominant faction remains. After that, that faction will repopulate the Galaxy with armies of clones that fight and kill each other to become stronger, as they believed that Nature intended humanity and the Galaxy to live in an eternal state of war for the sake of "the survival of the fittest".

Many Farsiders have been modified so they cannot feel trauma, as the existence of trauma was condemned as "Earth Union propaganda". Not only this made them more cruel and merciless, but it also made them more likely to destroy themselves.

Religion[]

Much of Farsider society practiced polytheist religions, ranging from various forms of Nordic Heathenry to veneration of fictional characters. Farsiders preferred to side with polytheists, as they believed that Earth was better off when it was more diverse and pagan, before monotheist religions fuelled the rise of many atrocities and empires. Another reason for the Farsider bias towards polytheism was to earn the support of the Thorn Rebellion, after their revolt against the Cosmopolitan Empire's suppression of their culture.

This also led to some Farsider nations legalising human sacrifices, executing criminals, slaves, dissidents, converts to other religions, atheists, and clones as offerings to their gods; and it also fuelled the Farsiders into becoming more warlike. Other Farsiders have became like their hated enemy by committing cannibalism to frighten their opponents. Farsiders also believed that killing an enemy as a ritual sacrifice sends the victim's soul to a god to be eaten by that god: for example, enemies were sacrificed to Loki to feed their souls to him.

When even some of the pagans objected to the Farsider rulers' growing cruelty, the Farsiders also denounced the same gods that they worshipped, abandoning their principles to become more fanatical and ruthless. These same rulers and their armies turned to other popular deities from several widespread Galactic cultures, or created new ones of their own.

Many Farsiders pray to "The Ancestors", as a collective representing those ancestors from more honourable times (such as the Viking Age who resisted Christian persecution). The Farsiders believed that just as their enemies' ancestors persecuted them, they should also return the same cruelty and destruction to their enemies' descendants to please "The Ancestors" as a form of justice, even if it meant a Galaxy-wide omnicide. They also believed that once they have destroyed Earth or committed enough sacrificial murders, they will unleash the Ancestors, as a collective spirit who will eat the souls of their enemies in the material plane.

Popular gods included Odin (until the Denunciation), Mars, Jupiter, Caesar, Tiamat, Zaklarash, Ladekharan, and Palgexar. Their worship of Odin was due to using him as representative of the entire Norse pantheon and its culture, and to rally the Nordic colonies who served under Farsider rule into becoming more militant. Farsiders also worshipped Mars, Jupiter, and the Caesar emperors to frighten their Christian enemies.

Zaklarash was a drought deity from a comic book; Ladekharan was a death god from a tabletop game; and Palgexar was a smithing god from a video game.

Some Farsiders practice a "Cult of Selfishness", responding to Earth Union propaganda about "empathy" by doing the opposite, becoming more cruel and destructive. Others practiced a "Cult of Pollution", seeking to exploit as much resources to "punish" nature and the planet Earth for all kinds of disruptions and deaths in natural disasters, and leave nothing of it alive.

In many Farsider states, Abrahamic religions and atheism were banned, as the former represented monotheistic empires that persecuted their ancestors; and the latter was associated with the Earth Union and preceding communist regimes. In spite of their leaders' hatred of monotheism and atheism, some members of the Farsiders were also Christians, Muslims, and atheists: they wanted to force their forms of "justice" on the Earthlings instead of exterminating them, or to protect their fellow believers from being exterminated with the others. But due to their leaders' hatred of their beliefs, these groups had to pretend to practice the Farsider religion to avoid being caught and punished.

Allies[]

  • Rinnarit Republic
    • Many Rinnarit regiments were sent to aid the Farsiders to follow President Ivan York's orders to punish and destroy Earth, but their goal was the protection of five sacred regions: Cambodia, Rafidain (Iraq), India, Scandinavia, and Greece.
    • Among these regiments were those of Nordic descent, who fought each other as they supported either the Nordic State or its opponents. Likewise, similar incidents of infighting broke out in Greece and India against some regiments that supported local warlords.
    • When the city of Istanbul was seized by Greek forces, the Rinnarit Republic celebrated.
    • The Rinnarits also took part in the bombing of Ghazni and the nuking of Rome: the former out of revenge for the Destruction of Somnath, and the latter for the persecutions of Nero and the medieval Church. A few also celebrated the Quartering of Charlemagne, when the European king's corpse was exhumed from the ruined Cathedral of Aachen, and torn apart as a sacrifice to Odin.
    • However, other Farsiders also took part in the destruction of India and Scandinavia, as part of their punishment against all of Earth and its people.
    • The Rinnarit Republic was one of some Farsider states that permitted Christianity and atheism within their realms, as its leader Ivan York was himself a Christian. In spite of his religion, he allowed the growing Norse immigrants to practice their beliefs freely to ensure the Farsiders' continued support for his regime. Once he was forced to admit to an angry co-member that he worshipped Jesus and he refused to give up his God, some Farsider warriors attempted to kill him and bomb his country, accusing him of treason and disobedience against the Ancestors and their gods. Nonetheless, the Farsiders' leaders allowed him and his armies to continue serving them, because of his fervent hatred of Earth.
  • Laadros
  • Ninth Reich
    • In spite of their similar beliefs of destroying anything suspected of weakness, the Farsiders permitted the Ninth Reich to join them in their slaughters. Behind their backs, the Farsiders raided Ninth Reich territory, slaughtering the inhabitants as their viewed Nazis as "weakened by Roman influence".
    • By the time the last Ninth Reich fleets were halfway towards Earth, their capital was blown up, their last ships were hunted like prey to the Farsider hordes, and their final members were slaughtered and sacrificed to the Farsiders' gods.

Enemies and opponents[]

  • Third Ghaznavid Empire
    • This empire was founded by a warlord who wanted to bring back the brutality of his predecessors. He wanted to end the dominance of the Milky Way between the Earth Union, the Cospolins, and the Vetarbroitar by taking over the whole galaxy, with himself as its emperor (Padishah i-Kahkashan, or Padishah of Blood). He was known for forcing conquered peoples to surrender or be exterminated.
    • This empire was the most prominent opponent of the early Farsiders, supported by fleets of opportunistic pirates who wanted to bring order to a wartorn Galaxy or to simply find action and violence.
    • Much of its early rulers consisted of warlords from the Marixai and Reich realms. They considered clones to be expendable cannon fodder and slave labour, and they viewed the Farsiders as unruly clones and heathens that must be forced to obey and worship the Padishah.
    • Eventually his fleets were defeated by the Farsiders' superior technology and their rapidly-produced clone armies, until the final Ghaznavid emperor, Khusnao III, was shot dead during his final stand.
  • Earth Union
    • America
      • Before World War III, America was split into two regimes, each of which attempted to influence the world to its favour. For the many actions of that civilisation (from wars, massacres, and abuse, and World War III), the United States is denounced as one of the Farsiders' worst enemies.
  • Cosmopolitan Empire
  • Shielded Nations
    • Nordic State
      • In spite of temporarily sharing the same Norse gods and culture, the Nordics consider the Farsiders to a mistake blown to extreme proportions that need to be exterminated. In turn, the Farsiders consider the Nordics to be fascist weaklings who must be enslaved or sacrificed to the gods.
    • Arabia
      • The Farsiders waged war against Arabia to punish it for being one of the Four Powers that were blamed for World War III.
    • Japan
      • To punish Japan for its ancestors' atrocities during World War II, they bombed their cities and unleashed the Ueheishi ("hungry soldiers", designed to look like Imperial troops) clones to eat its people.
    • China
      • The powerhouse cities of the eastern coast were subjected to Farsider attacks, as the Farsiders hated China as one of the Four Powers that attempted to rule the world before World War III.
    • Russia
      • Russia was considered one of the Four Powers that led to World War III, so the Farsiders regarded Russia as one of their enemies.
    • Afghanistan
      • The Royal Armed Forces of Afghanistan battled the Rinnarit fleets as they attempted to bomb the industrial town of Ghazni in revenge against Mahmud of Ghazni's raids on India. The Royal Afghan defenders were aided by reinforcements from Bigton and Hiwayyin clad in white armour.
    • India
      • The cities of Maha Indraprasth (the capital), Galajanka (Mumbai), Bengvaluru, Vanarasi, Chandigarh, and Kolikat were among the Farsiders' targets, even though the Rinnarits and other Preservers tried to stop them. The Farsiders targeted India and its neighbours to punish their peoples for the lynchings, sectarian wars, and persecutions throughout their histories.
    • Other countries
      • A Farsider fleet dropped a nuclear bomb on the city of Rome, in revenge against the persecutions of the medieval Church and the Caesars. Afterwards, Ivan York attacked Milan in a fit of rage, and when he returned to the Rinnarit Republic, he died of radioactive poisoning from breathing in the irradiated Italian landscape.
  • Saidonerse Empire
  • Kingdom of Hiwayyin
  • Galaxials
  • Kingdom of Polaris
  • Vegaean Colonies
  • Other Neo-Norse states
    • Former allies who joined with their enemies, disgusted by their excessive cruelty.
  • Marixai states (a group of communist countries)
    • The Marixai intentionally celebrated the victims' deaths to anger the Farsiders, provoking them to fight them and lose more men.
    • Some Marixai considered forcibly converting any captured Farsiders, while others suggested that this cloned race deserves extermination.
  • Mannofrin Corporation
  • Several other space corporations
  • Kingdom of Hiwayyin
  • Harsparex Federation
    • The Harsparex aided the Bigtonians in defending Afghanistan from Farsider bombardment.

Trivia[]

  • The Farsiders (and some of their enemies, such as the Reichs, some Marixai, and the Third Ghaznavids) might be inspired by Khorne-worshippers and the author's own anger against various historical atrocities and extremists. Their hatred of Earth may be based on the author's anger against all the deaths caused by natural disasters and the coronavirus, which he regarded as attacks from nature or God against humanity.
  • Copyright is non-existent in many Farsider realms, as the Farsiders did this to curse the Earthlings and their history. Therefore, plagiarism is considered to be acceptable in those parts of the Galaxy. This caused several corporations to wage war against the Farsiders over rampant misuse of their products.
  • Their battlecries included: "Miklagard will fall", "Down with Red Miklagard", or "Miklagard has fallen". "Miklagard", a former name for Constantinople, is reused as a name for the Earth Union as an empire.
  • The Nazis and their descendants might support them for attacks against Christianity and other supposed "enemies of the Aryan race", but the Farsiders would regard all Nazis as "Roman failures" to be exterminated and fed to the Ancestors.
